Don Revie: Portrait of a Footballing Enigma (Mainstream Sport)

£3.45

A Fitting Tribute to The Don - I was a big fan of Don Revie s Leeds and this honest and humane biography was an interesting source of information on the man and his motivations. It was interesting to see how many original ideas Revie had about football, such as training at 3PM rather than in the mornings so that the players would be accustomed to performing at that time of day. An essential read for anyone who remembers the Leeds glory days of the 1970 s.

Short but informative - This is the first book decicated to Don that I have read (the picture had been pieced together from all the other Leeds United bios before now) and found it quite informative about the extremes that people regarded him. There s no doubt that he was smart (a genius) but he wasn t perfect (but then who is?).A good, fairly balanced view.

A short biography of a Leeds legend - Don Revie was the greatest manager Leeds United have ever had. His reputation however is tainted by his mistakes when managing England and the unfair treatment by the media and others in their opinion of the great Leeds United team that he created. This book is very readable but quite short.
